Published by cocoakrisp08 at 3:47 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Your palms get sweaty, your heart rate increases, you feel breathless, maybe even dizzy, your legs get numb, you may even feel a overwhelming sense of doom, 3 minutes later you’re ok. You call 911, because you think you’re having a heartattack, but when the paramedics arrived and took your vitals, everything was normal. What caused this horrible ordeal, anxiety, you just experienced a panic attack.  Panic Attacks, affect millions of people in the world. Some people may experience them only once or twice in their life, some once or twice in a day. The cause for many panic attacks are anxiety related, some medical related. Panic attacks are not fatal, you can’t die from them. Panic attacks, no matter how horrible they can seem at the time can be controlled. Although there are meds available such as Xanax to control more severe cases, most panic attacks can be controlled with relaxation techniques and reassociation between reality and fantasy. From my experience with a panic attack which i thought was a heart attack lasted 10 mins, I took a muscle relaxant and calmed down. The next time i experienced one i recognized the symptoms and redirected myself back to reality, I kept telling myself to calm down, its ok, nothing is going to hurt mea nd the panic stopped. From then On I’ve been using that technique to control my anxiety. when the body thinks its being attacks it “panicks” therefore we have to reasurre our mind that the “panick” isn’t real, and our mind will relax and the panick will go away. So next time you’re feeling panicky relax, it’ll go away, the mind is a powerful thing, use it!
